a new version 03.04 of metalife bioexplorer is now available.
metalife bioexplorer is a web interface to a database containing annotated non-redundant data for proteins and relevant genes.
in comparison to the previous version there are 193699 new entries added. the metalife database counts total of 1173204 unique protein entries and incorporates information from 38 biological databases.
in addition to the already existing types of annotations (structure, function, alternative products, transcripts, expression, disease association, antibodies, patents and references) the current version visualizes nucleic library clones, as well as homology between either protein or nucleic sequences.
many new relationships between the proteins and gene ontology (GO) classification terms are established. presently the total number of GO annotated proteins is 801067 and the total number of relationships is 3726208.
a lot of extra information about both proteins and genes is available, since bioexplorer’s entries are linked to all of the other metalife products: genome, protein, interaction and pathway viewers, predictor, epitope validator and text analyzer
