Janvi
Charitable Trust is a registered NGO, which was established on the 9th
of April 1999. Janvi Charitable Trust is the brainchild of our
Chairperson Ms. Asha Mittu who for the past many years has been serving
the Underprivileged of our Society. Ms Asha along with a few
Philanthropists got together and formed Janvi Charitable Trust. Janvi
Charitable Trust which is a Platform from where we stand and speak out
our views opinions, suggestions, appeals and concern’s for the
underprivileged and neglected sectors of our society. JCT is working for
the Marginalized, Physically and Financially challenged. The mandate and
challenge to JCT is to achieve significant humanitarian results with the
funds available.
We regularly help in Blood
Donations Drives, Medical Checkup and Cancer Prevention and Detection
Camps. We visit Cancer and terminally-ill patients in various Hospitals
for distribution of gifts and arrange for Film Personalities to meet the
patients which in turn adds thrill to their lives .We have been actively
campaigning for the BAN of Tobacco in
Public
Places, organizing HIV/AIDS Awareness Drives . We have been using
corporate support and help for distribution of various items to the Aged
Homes.
The projects we have taken up are in the
interest of the common and needy people of our society . We are aware
that a lot of people share the same views and interest as we at JCT do
for the people of our society. We make an appeal to the more fortunate
people of our society to come forward and help us serve this society.
Your help and support and contribution would make all the difference in
the time taken and quality of our service for our fellow brothers and
sisters.
Of the many projects in hand, the Dream
Project is to build a HOME FOR THE AGED.
Currently we are working with the government
authorities to provide us land on which we can establish the Home.
Everyone suffers if the wisdom and experience of the elders are ignored
rather than valued by society as a powerful resource. This Aged Home
will be named SHARAN.
A large number of women who
fall prey due to broken families , alcoholic husbands, harassment from
in-laws or discrimination against girl child. Most of these women are
ignorant and illiterate with no skills except for the one that they are
daily forced to perform which are the daily house hold chores namely
preparing food which they are good at. Janvi Charitable Trust thought
the best way to help these women to regain their self-respect and esteem
was to use the important resources they have that is the skill of
preparing food by setting up a Community Canteen for them which would be
named ASHRAYA.
Janvi Charitable Trust is working
towards the Up-Liftment of the girl child from the deprived, neglected
and other backward classes by establishing them a Sewing Cum Tailoring
Center for learning free of cost which comes under the Project MAHILA
VIKAS.
Janvi Charitable Trust has set up Free
Balwadis ( Primary Education ) for the less fortunate children who dwell
in slums and cannot afford to attend school. We plan to continue
establishing such centers all over Mumbai. Which is run under our
Project GYANDEEP.
There are a few fishing
villages on the outskirts of Mumbai and Raigad district which are being
ignored and the condition of living and health are very poor. These
villages have no Medical facilities at hand incase of emergencies. Janvi
Charitable Trust is committed in lifting the standards of living and
hygiene by setting up Balwadis and Primary Health Centers for them under
the project of JAAG.
Janvi Charitable Trust has
also been instrumental in saving the lives and property of the fishermen
during stormy weather when at sea through our Project SANDESH.
Janvi Charitable Trust is also involved in
spreading the message and awareness on various issues through their
COMMUNITY SERVICE programs.
Mother Theresa once
said Service and Charity should be given till it hurts and pinches ones
self. All that you will give in life is what you will posses one day.
