I've been to Ghana, been to the mines, met many
scammers. Learned about all the gold scams. Let me tell you the facts:
1. No one in Ghana
sells their gold below 3% LME (London market exchange) price. they can
sell to PMMC at this price. Why would they sell to you? They get their
money in 45mins.
2. Anybody selling you more
than 5kg is a scammer.
3. Beware, the scammers
are very charismatic and talk very convincingly.
4. If you still want to buy gold from ghana,
you must open a company with a local ghanaian (none of them are
trustworthy), get gold buying license ($200 from PMMC), get a work
permit. If you don't do these things they can do many things: payoff
immigration to deport you and block you from coming back, or set you up
1000 different ways.
5. nobody in Ghana is
trustworthy and everyone is out to steal your money, this includes the
police, immigration, and of course the locals.
To make a long story short, don't even think
of buying gold from Ghana. You have been warned! |
