I recently purchased some luck bamboo but did not get instructions how to grow it, other than put it in 2 inches of water. Can you advise about containers, fertilizer, etc. Thank you!

Lucky Bamboo
It was customary in ancient Oriental culture that a gift of living bamboo brings Good Fortune. Whatever the occasion - New Year, Birthday, Pagoda-warming, or Wedding Anniversary - these lucky green shoots will bring a smile to your face. Lucky Bamboo comes from original stock and is extremely hardy. They will grow indoors for years with virtually no care, requiring only an inch or two of water. A few drops of diluted fertilizer (about 2 drops or 3 drops) will cause them to grow rapidly, otherwise they will remain the same size . This lucky charm will keep giving too: you can break off a stem and re-plant it in water. By changing the water every two weeks, it will quickly root and can then be passed on to a friend. Place the plant on he East side of the house, and/or the left back corner of the office, cubicle, or living room when facing from the door. It should be in a bright area, but not in direct sunlight. Lucky Bamboo grows in water like cut flowers, but it will last for years. Place the Bamboo in shallow water (about 2') in a vase. Lucky Bamboo adapts to a new environment easily. Low light to bright indirect sunlight suits them well. It prefers temperatures ranging from 45 - 90 F. Change the water every 2 weeks to prevent bacteria from building up. Enjoy! and don't forget, you really can't kill this one!
