Hi Paula,
I am not growing any cactus now, but did a lot when in Saudi Arabia. One of the foremost authorities on cactus growing is Benny Moeller Jansen, and can be found at;

Hope you find the info you need.
Conrad

I have quite a large yuka plant. There is a sticky substance coming off the leaves which is making the conservitory floor sticky. Is this normal if so what is the sticky substance and is it poisanous.

I know how to propagate Yucas - dig up the main plant and separate it at the roots where there are little buds coming out. Sometimes you can get as many as 4 or 5 big plants. Impossible to kill.

My question is - I love Yucas and have several planted in groupings around my yard. I have a few that are beautifully shaped, but the blades are yellow. Should I cut the blades off? Thank you. E-mail:jfsnead81@hotmailcom

Every year all my Spirea Shrubs look like they die over the winter but then they come out. Right now they look like they are really dead. Should I cut them down almost to the ground or leave them alone. All the branches look dead.

You can tell if the plant is alive by scratching a stem lightly with your fingernail. If it is green underneath, the plant is still alive.
