The Egyptian red garlic which is being collected
by European importers yearly, had made the Egyptian producers
concentrate more and more for this vegetable. The season starts from 15
March to end of May, of every year. For any importer the sealing
contract is from end of February up to 10 March, when farmers harvested
their crop.
The first to enter the negotiation
gets the best price, the last gets price like gold, and the farmers keep
for local market.
I want to impart this
impormation: The quality of Egyptian red garlic (commonly called chinese
garlic of egyptian origin) is far better than the one coming from China
itself. Reason, after
harvest in March, comes the
fine weather till warm weather that dries the garlic well and can last
for another year in the normal weather condition of Egypt. I am an
exporter and a user of garlic, and we guarantee this point.
There is white garlic which is the preference in
France, but exported right after harvest and keep in cool storehouse to
stay for supermarkets.
But to keep in Egypt
weather, dries easily and emptied, especially when harvested early for
immediate sale.
