Ahoy Mates!
I am a former
US Navy Bosuns Mate. I spent two years on the USS Detroit where I was a
Seaman in the ships small boats division. I got alot of experience
running boats there.
After the Navy, I spent 2
summers in Alaska working the docks and slime lines. My main duties
included unloading holds full of fish, sorting by species, filling
totes, and stacking with the forklift. Also, running the water taxi,
fueling boats, and helping to change engine oil in the yard after an
opening. I moved around the state a little one year, following the fish.
Now I wanna get out on a boat and get some crab.
I enjoy the weather, and I'm not intimidated by rough seas.
I can be anywhere in Alaska within 2 weeks, with
most of my own gear. If you know of a deckhand position, or another
position on a crab boat, let me know.
My brother
is also interested, so if there are 2 spots, even better!
Thanks,
