VI. Methods of Analysis:
Analysis to ensure compliance with international
specifications will use the following procedures: EC No. 1854/96 L246,
dated 27 September 1996, Vitamin A per FIL 142, Vitamin D per AOAC
43.079,and coliform test per Regulation EC No. 1080/96:
VII Testing:
The first set
of tests will be conducted by a first class independent surveyor
nominated by MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) at the point of origin and loading of
the commodity , against the specifications listed in Section V , and
test results will be e.mailed to the MOT (food stuff) . Inspection
charges seller’s account .
The second set of
tests will be conducted by the MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) when the cargo has
arrived to its final allocation or custom’s area or warehouses . Samples
will be taken for test in (FOODSTUFF ) laboratory , in accordance with
relevant international standards , to confirm compliance with the
quality specifications indicated . FOOD STUFF testing will be completed
not later than seven (7 ) days after the arrival of commodities at the
final locations.THE FINAL DECISION CONCERNING FITNESS OF GOODS : will be
according to
MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) decision and any
deviations from the specifications must be approved by the MOT and in
case MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) analysis found deviation or that goods not fit
for human consumption , the two contracted parties have the right to
adopt a third party surveyor either Iraqi or International company to
reanalyze the goods to make sure from the result found by MOT ( FOOD
STUFF ) laboratory and said analysis will be adopted as final.
Accordingly,if the goods still found with a deviation then a decision
will be taken by FOOD STUFF to reject a specific quantity because of not
being according to its contractual specifications ,and the supplier has
to choose either to (re – export the rejected quantity after
compensating MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) with same quantity that is according to
its specifications or to authorize MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) to take care of
rejected goods after the supplier settles the matter either by paying (
FOOD STUFF ) the equivalent amount or compensate it with same quantity .
The foodstuff will measure the quantity of the
commodity arrived by vessel when it is discharged at the point of entry
into Iraq and compare this with the bill of lading and
MOT ( FOOD STUFF ) will measure the quantity of
the commodity ,which will be arrived by inland at its final
destination(s) storage(s) .
VIII. Packaging and
Marketing:
Packing: the adult milk powder must be
packed in aluminum foil sachets as 50% of 48 bags of 250 grams each, and
50% of 24 bags of 500 grams each, each sachet will be sealed with either
nitrogen gas alone, or with a combination of nitrogen gas and carbon
dioxide. Packed in cartons. The sachet will be packed in double-wall
corrugated cartons, each carton must contain three flat layers of liner
paper: one of them must be between two layers of flute paper which must
be well fixed and the number of flutes must approximately be from 150 to
184 flutes per meter in the sheets, and the flute height must
approximately be from 2.1 to 2.8 millimeters. Flute paper specifications
must be as follows essential weight of 118 grams per square meter, and
thickness of 0.22 millimeters, with a tolerance of 6% the resistance
power of the flat crush for the flute paper must be a minimum of 1.8
kilogram power per square centimeter. The carton must be bound with wide
stick tape not less than five centimeters or with a wire, distance
between every two stitches must be not more than five centimeters. The
Carton surface must pass the test of water resistance. Each container
must contain only one batch of the commodity, which must be manufactured
at the same processing installation on the same date.

printed on each sachet and each carton and packing list must be marked
with each container
