I fell in love with macaws several years ago and
have taken macaws that have been mishandled or mistreated into my home
to reacclimate them to human companionship. Their previous owners have
been amazed at the difference. The birds were not returned to them but
instead I found families that I was sure would care properly for them. I
currently have a severe macaw I am rehab-ing. My husband and I have
talked extensively with entertainers and their trainers (we live in Las
Vegas) specifically about Hyacinths. We have been very privelaged to
work with one though briefly, we decided that the Hyacinth would be our
choice for our own companion. We have 3 very adorable and behaved
shar-peis which share our home with us. They do not bother the birds,
they do however eat what the bird drops on the floor. If you still have
the hyacinth for adoption please let me know the fee and the shipping
costs. I am home all day (do not work outside the home) so rest assured
the bird would definitely have human companionship to be his flock
substitute. I know of the special dietary needs for this bird and will
make sure Natasha gets it. Thanks for your time.
